One of the best ways to book parties and pique the interest of potential recruits is to attend various events that are related to the consultant’s product line. These events can be anything from fairs, festivals, tradeshows, small business conventions, and women empowerment conventions.
Benefits Of Attending Fairs and Festivals
Fairs and festivals are a fun way to let the locals know about a consultant’s business. It’s a good way to meet potential hostesses, make a few sales at the fair, and discuss the business with others who may be interested in becoming consultants. Fairs and festivals are usually not a major investment and bring you in contact with new customers in your area.
In addition a regular schedule of attending fairs and expos can be used as an awesome team training tool. When you bring new consultants to vendor events they get to listen, learn, practice and develop skills along side the successful consultants. This is an awesome learning opportunity and will help them fill your calendar.
Tradeshows Build Your Business
In addition to helping you build your business tradeshows are fun to attend. Booth fees may be a little higher than local fairs and festivals but the returns may be greater. Tradeshows are often targeted for specific products or niches. For example, scrapbooking shows would be an ideal event for a consultant of a scrapbook line. There are baby, seniors, business and family themed tradeshows. Some trade shows are specifically for direct sales businesses. The attendees are already interested in the product and are more likely to purchase a large quantity of product as well as host a party. They are also more likely to show interest in turning their hobby into a business, which makes tradeshows a great place to recruit.
Small Business and Women Empowerment Conventions
Small business and women empowerment conventions are ideal events for recruiting. Many of these women are looking for ways to control their own finances. The benefits of the home party plan business become quickly apparent to the entrepreneurial spirit and these events tend to attract women who would appreciate an established business line that supports their own business endeavors.
Finding Business Building Events
Events can be found online by looking up fairs and festivals, tradeshows, small business conventions and women’s empowerment conventions. Many county fairgrounds host these events and provide a calendar of events, complete with promoter information. Local fairs and festivals are usually advertised in the local media and through the Chamber of Commerce. A great way to attend some of the more expensive events is to share the cost with other consultants.
