A Team Meeting Game to Stretch Party Plan Comfort Zone
Activities or games are often a good way to keep team training meetings fun and exciting. A good game or activity is one that team members will enjoy, learn something from, and be able to apply to their direct sales business. As the team leader, you should ensure that the exercises are adequately explained and properly reviewed when completed.
Home party plan team members can learn important lessons during team meeting exercises. They can learn how to deal with different situations, how to understand differing viewpoints, and how to use human behavior to benefit their business. Exercises and games also teach strategy, teamwork, analysis, group dynamics, and decision-making skills.

A great exercise to use for home party plan training sessions is the early bird/second mouse game. To do this exercise, split the team into two groups. One group can be the early bird and the other group can be the second mouse.
Allow each group to create a two-minute presentation on why their strategy is best for your business. |
The first group will give a presentation on why it is best to be an early bird: why the first business gets the customer. The second group will give their presentation on why it might be best to be the second mouse: the company who follows can give a better presentation and lure the company to purchase their product line.
Home Party Presentation Skills
Everyone in home party plan should practice doing presentations to perfect their skills, so this is a great way to perfect skills. Once both sides give their presentations, there are several follow-up exercises.
- You can set aside another twenty minutes or so to have a debate on the subject.
- You can also ask each individual what the opinion was before the presentation and if it changed after both presentations.
- Another follow-up exercise is to have the groups switch and develop a presentation for the opposite opinion.
| This early bird/second mouse exercise teaches teamwork, quick thinking, debate skills, presentation skills, and an understanding of how groups work together and make decisions. It also forces people to look at opposing viewpoints, and merge personal views with group opinions.
This exercise is one of the best because it can be used for groups of almost any number and it applies to most types of businesses. |

Though home party plan consultants work alone at home without coming to meetings, being part of a team provides them with opportunity, support, and differing opinions.
