Home party consultants enjoy the freedom of making their own schedule, but there are plenty of challenges that come with that freedom. If you want to sell product, then you need to develop a presentation that keeps your audience’s attention. In most cases, that is a lot harder to do than it sounds.

Part of a good home party plan includes fun and interesting ways of keeping your audience’s attention.

Once you have these methods perfected, you will be able to capture your customers’ interest for an entire presentation.

Tips Keep Your Show Simple

If you have products that require a little bit of technical overview, then save the deep technical stuff for the people who really want to hear it. Always keep your presentations simple and to the point. You will need to read your product information and determine what information your customers need to know in order to make a buying decision. At the end of the presentation, you can encourage people with detailed questions to ask you one on one.

Use Party Plan Product Displays

A good home party plan uses displays and hands-on demonstrations to help keep people’s attention. When you are explaining a product to an audience, it always helps to have the product on display possibly even in groupings so people can see what you are talking about, and so that you can focus their attention on something they may have never seen before.

Change Presentation Voice Inflection

If you want to lose your audience quickly, then speak in a monotone voice. Your presentation voice inflection should go up and down.

  • Talk loud then quiet.
  • Talk seriously then jokingly.

People will be quick to criticize someone who has some character in her voice, but they will always remember that voice and the information that was given. If you want to keep them listening, then change up the voice inflection and avoid putting them to sleep.

It takes a deliberate decision and a constant practicing to change your presentation inflections.

Tempo To Keep Audience Attention

The ideal way to present your information is to talk in a tempo that makes it easy to understand you, but avoid dragging on about the same product for too long. That is why it is critical that you keep each product description brief. Keep the tempo of your presentations moving along, but do not go so fast that you are losing people. Watch the audience when you are talking to make sure that everyone is following what you are saying.

  • Talk slow then fast.

Get The Audience Involved

The best way to keep an audience’s attention is to keep them involved in what is going on.

  • Ask audience members to come up and help you demonstrate a product.
  • Don’t forget to circulate your product samples throughout the audience as you speak. People love to touch!
  • Ask questions and expect and wait for answers.
  • Ask questions that require a raising of hands then raise yours first.

Party Plan Presentation Skills

Presentation skills take practice and planning.  Script your home show so that it increases sales, bookings and recruiting so that you have a more effective party plan show.

If you plan your presentation properly, you should be able to keep the audience’s interest and sell some product. Remember to write out exactly how your presentation will go and practice as much as possible.

3 Home Party Games To Try

POST A REPLY        COMMENTS( 0 )

Games are a great way to boost sales at your next home party. They break the ice, put guests at ease, and stir up interest in your products. The more fun your guests and hosts have at the party, the more likely they will be to make a purchase or even become a recruit. A home party plan game should be fun, simple, and memorable. Try one of these at your next party to boost sales.

Pass The Parcel Home Party Game

This home party plan game is a spin on the traditional kids’ party game, and it works well with any product line. You simply wrap a small gift product or coupon for so much off the cost of a product in several layers of wrapping paper. You could even use pages from an old catalog to wrap the item. The guests will pass the parcel around as you play music. Stop the music periodically, and whoever is holding the parcel when the music stops gets to remove one layer of wrapping. Continue until one lucky person reaches the prize.

Show Game = What Am I?

This home party plan game is a great way to familiarize your guests with the products. Distribute catalogs to everyone and then give a description of an item from the catalog, but don’t reveal the product name.

You can give hints, let people work in teams, and give points for each correct guess. Give coupons or prizes to the person or team with the most points at the end of the game. This is a great way to highlight products in a fun way.

The Ask Me Anything Except… Game

This is a game intended to source possible new recruits. Buy a roll of two-part tickets like the ones used for raffles. Give out one ticket to each person that asks you a question about yourself or your home party plan sales job.

In fact, they can ask you about anything except the actual products.

Write the asker’s name on one ticket as a possible follow-up recruit. Make sure your answers tell about the benefits of your direct sales business. For example, you might answer a question about how many children you have with a statement such as ‘This great business allows me to spend more time with my children’. Finally, give a prize to the person with the most tickets.

Get creative and have fun at your next direct sales party!

Keep Home Party Plan Audience Attention!

Just like with live stage performances, not every home party plan presentation you give is going to be a winner. You will run across some presentations where you seem to be losing the audience. To say that it happens in the home party business is not an exaggeration. But it happens much less often to experienced consultants.

There are some excellent ways to handle an inattentive audience, but nothing beats being prepared to give the best presentation possible and learn how to see the warning signs of a presentation that is starting to get away.

Practice And Script Your Party Plan Presentation

home party plan presentation A good presentation is one based on a lot of experience, good scripts and practice.

Even if you do not have any events scheduled, you should get your friends, family or stuffed animals together and run through the party presentation. You want to develop ways of getting your audience’s attention right off the bat and keeping it for the entire program.

You want to set the proper tone with your presentation opening with a good script. Guests like to know what they can expect in regard to time and if you start off with a bang, you will get their attention from the first moment. A little humor or surprise to get their attention is always effective, before you get to your professional product displays.

Script Your Show – Have A Zinger Ready

Scripting your different lines during the show will really help you when the time comes to pull someone back in.

One of the things that can get your presentation off course quickly is one or two people in the audience that seem to find their own conversation more interesting that your presentation. Once again, being prepared is your best weapon and you always want to have some kind of zinger at the ready for people who are trying to derail your speech.

A zinger is something that makes an immediate impact and gives people a reason to stop talking and pay attention. More than likely, your talkers are probably in a giggling mood, so bringing out a controversial product is not going to help. But pointing out the importance of your information will cause those around the talkers to be quiet.

For example, giving a statistic on how many relationships you have personally seen salvaged by your products and your expertise is always a good zinger to get the audience’s attention and quiet the talkers.

Home Party Humor

Humor will always get an audience’s attention at any home party no matter what is going on. It takes time to find the jokes and humorous stories that can bring a listless presentation crowd to life. But once you find those good stories and jokes, you should memorize them to be available when things start going bad.

Listening to what your audiences says is a good way to find new humorous lines to use in future shows.
